Showcase Video of Sheenagh’s work to follow.

Sheenagh is a passionate and driven events guru who has huge experience in developing and overseeing some of the world's most spectacular productions, tours and festivals, alongside doing the lovely small stuff, while making the entire process look incredibly simple.

There is a particular joy in bringing together a team of talented and creative collaborators, all established in their own field, to a project, big or small, world class or local. Most rewarding is seeing an idea that started out as nothing more than a thought become a reality. But ultimately experiencing the connection between audience and performer is the magical thing, and witnessing that connection never fails to excite me.

The person who says it cannot be done, should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

Chinese proverb

Throughout her career, Sheenagh has worked on some of the biggest and most exciting creative events in Ireland and abroad. Mary Davis, Chief Executive

Special Olympics WorLd Games

Sheenagh was hired to work with Special Olympics World Games as General Manager of Special Events. In her role, she not only exceeded expectations but left the Games having changed the original blueprint for both the International Delegates Seminar and the Festival Village held in the RDS. She brought her own particular style to the Village, where she managed to make it both artistic and fun at the same time. Her “something for everyone” approach, saw over 100,000 flocking to the RDS. Sheenagh is blessed with a relaxed easy going manner, a great sense of fairness and is extremely diplomatic. This is all underscored by a creative vision and steely determination to establish exciting and innovative projects capable of holding their own in any world class arena.

Michael Colgan, Director

Gate Theatre

It is testament to Sheenagh’s focus and tenacity that having joined the Gate Theatre, she quickly rose through the ranks, from work experience to management. She is blessed with a positive can-do attitude and has the ability to treat everyone with the same degree of warmth and respect whether they be world renowned artist or an actor fresh out of drama school. She approaches every project with the same determination and passion, whether local, national or international. Best of all she has never lost that excitement, that freshness, she first displayed in the Gate.

Anne Clarke, Producer

Landmark Productions

The opening night of Enda Walsh's Misterman, starring Cillian Murphy, was a significant event for Landmark Productions, which co-produced the show with Galway Arts Festival, Ireland and was subsequently brought to London and New York. We wanted to transform the foyer of the Black Box Theatre for the the post-show party. A relatively industrial space, it was transformed after the curtain had gone up, while the unsuspecting audience was watching the show. While I knew that Sheenagh worked on large national and international events, we also knew each other from our four years together in the Gate so I hoped if she could she would respond to a last-minute request for help - and she did. Within a day she designed the lighting, decor and - typical of her constant willingness to go the extra mile - arrived bearing armfuls of wild flowers, amongst other props, which she had picked and transported herself. She worked tirelessly for the day, looked after all the logistics, brought the event in under budget, and didn't stop until the last person had gone home. Thanks to her commitment, personality and dedication, the evening was a tremendous success.

Julian Erskine, Executive Producer

Riverdance – The Show

I first met Sheenagh whilst working at the Gate Theatre in the early 90s. Her integrity, enthusiasm and boundless energy were evident from the start. At the time I was beginning to work on the then fledgling Riverdance – The Show. As soon as it was possible, I asked Sheenagh to come on board as part of the team. For the five years she was with us, Sheenagh ran various departments as The Show expanded and increased its reach around the world. During that time she consistently managed to retain her ability to blend business management with people management without ever compromising on either front. I would simply say to anyone who works with or engages Sheenagh’s services... you won’t regret it !!

George Heslin, Founder & Artistic Director

Origin Theatre Company, New York

Sheenagh has a truly unique insight that is invaluable to Origin. She has a tremendous understanding of both the Irish and American (in particular NY) cultures. She has empathy and respect for artist and audience in equal measure and delivers every project to the very highest standards with military like precision – so don’t be fooled by her seemingly laid back, low key manner. I am thrilled that she is part of the Origin journey which has only been enhanced by her positivity, dogged determination and utter commitment to each project. She really is a joy to work with.

Catherine Condell

Fashion Stylist & Show Producer

I have had the extreme pleasure of working with Sheenagh Gillen on two high profile events. An exclusive Irish Designer Fashion Show for The Special Olympics at The RDS and the UCD Student Fashion Show at The O2. Sheenagh is undoubtedly one of the most professional people I have ever worked with. She is dedicated, passionate, knowledgable and competent. She also brings a refreshing good humor to everything she’s involved with, which makes her an absolute joy to be around. If working with Sheenagh, you can relax knowing that you are in very capable hands.
